Linktropy WAN emulation appliances are used to test the performance of applications in the lab under real-world network conditions. The new 4.0 version firmware adds link condition recorder and player functionality to capture live network conditions and replay them through the Linktropy WAN emulator. The Linktropy Recorder monitors the delay and loss characteristics of the user's wide area network links over an extended time period. The actual network conditions are then imported into the Linktropy WAN emulator and replayed to test the performance of applications in a repeatable test environment.
