Alcatel-Lucent was a double winner today as NXTcomm announced its 2008 Eos Awards, honoring companies for the best new technologies or enterprise solutions in 12 categories of wireless, broadband and next-generation technologies for public and enterprise networks.
Alcatel-Lucent won Eos awards for Technology Innovation in the Backbone Edge for its FP2 IP Routing & Traffic Management Silicon and won as well for Specialized Technology Achievement in Strategic Support/Solution for its IMS Consumer VoIP Solution.
Other winners included: Broadsoft, Calix, Fiber Tower, Hatteras Networks, Infinera, RGB Networks, Ruckus Wireless, and uControl.
“Our exhibitors continue to raise the bar in innovation as exemplified by this year's competition,” said Wayne Crawford, NXTcomm Executive Director, in a prepared statement. “This year's Eos winners and runners-up demonstrate the best and most promising advancements to the network-enabled voice, video and data ecosystem.”

A 13th award, called the Spotlight Award, will be selected by attending press and analysts and will be given to one of the 12 Eos Award winners. The Spotlight Award winner will be recognized at the invitation-only NXTcomm Exception Reception, Tuesday, June 17, 5:00pm – 6:30pm.
