To address the growth of the metro regional market and the demand for higher capacity, ECI Telecom (Booth 4437) is upgrading its existing XDM all-range, 10-degree ROADM platform product by doubling the capacity from 40 channels to 80 channels and extending its product reach to provide powerful multidegree ROADM platforms for metro/regional and long-haul networks. This capacity can also extend now to a reach of 2000 km. This extensive new reach is due to many new features, including an increase in the maximum the power and gain of the XDM’s EDFA and Raman amplifiers, an addition of new state-of-the-art 10G line-side transponders for very long distances, and enhancement of the maximum reach of the optical supervisory channel. ECI’s Optical platform already includes OTN features and supports all traffic types from a single platform such as Sonet, DWDM and carrier-class Ethernet.
