Ixia (Booth 1543) is launching the XMV12X Load Module, the first test solution on a single blade that emulates line-rate, real-world 1 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet traffic. Emulating real-world, stateful application traffic such as voice, video and massive amounts of data prior to deployment addresses the demand for service providers to prevent costly service degradation and outages. This test solution allows the processing power of multiple onboard CPUs to be aggregated through one or more ports, providing the required performance to verify a resource-intensive mix of services and applications. It combines the power of multiprocessing with the convenience of using 1 GbE/10 GbE interfaces on a single blade.
This new load module ensures performance and security by emulating traffic conditions and patterns similar to the conditions of live deployment. The ability to aggregate and target the separate CPUs at an individual port enables most realistic emulation of services and potential threats to security. This solution provides flexibility and performance in 10 units of rack space, reducing capex/opex by eliminating the need to purchase more devices and train personnel on multiple platforms.
