Omnitron Systems Technology (Booth 6440) introduces the iConverter GX/TM2, a 10/100/1000 UTP to 1000BASE-X fiber network interface device designed for fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) carrier Ethernet customer premises applications. The GX/TM2 provides intelligent, securely managed demarcation, offering QOS and enhanced rate limiting in 64 Kb/s increments. It supports 10,000 KB maximum frame size, VLAN with Q-in-Q, Layer 2 Control Protocol Policy Control and small-form pluggable transceivers with optical statistics for standard or CWDM applications. The GX/TM2 has integrated SNMP or IP-less 802.3ah OAM management with comprehensive monitoring, fault detection/notification and provisioning. It can be configured as a stand-alone demarcation device, or as a plug-in module that can manage a chassis of other types of media converters.
