NXTcomm announced Clearwire as the winner of the Spotlight award, representing the best of the 2007 Eos Excellence of Achievement Awards issued on Tuesday.
The Spotlight Award is given to the company that developed the most promising new technology or provided the best new network services and strategic support, as judged by members of the media. All 12 Eos Awards winners are considered.
Clearwire was chosen for its Clearwire Wireless Broadband service, described as simple, fast, portable, reliable and affordable. Featuring simple plug-and-play installation, the service allows customers to quickly connect to the Internet. The service is available to 38 U.S. markets covering 400 municipalities in 12 states. In addition, Clearwire serves international markets of Belgium, Denmark and Ireland.
“It’s an exciting time for the industry with so many new technologies being introduced,” said Wayne Crawford, NXTcomm executive director. “This award gives us an opportunity to highlight the best.”
